Summary:

Taxonomy consulting, a specialty area within information management or knowledge management consulting, is a growing area that information professionals may want to consider. Companies, nonprofits, and government agencies have an increasing number of documents and content items that they need better organized in order to manage and find. A taxonomy needs to be customized for an organization’s contents, its users, and its needs. Designing and creating a taxonomy is a type of short-term project most suitable for consultants. Following an introduction to the types and uses of taxonomies, this webinar covers taxonomy consulting clients, project types, scoping and proposals, phases and components, deliverables, and administrative matters, and concludes with a look at taxonomy and related skills.
