Do you ever wonder whether your work place needs a DAM solution? Sharing and repurposing digital content via a Digital Asset Management system can result in reduced production efforts, decreased time spent locating content and overall cost savings. But what if you’ve never used a DAM or your content is disorganized and living in the various digital nooks and crannies of your employer? Join presenter Laura Fu as she guides us through designing an enterprise taxonomy and metadata schema to form the foundation of a successful DAM. The process will help you better understand your content and users’ search needs.  Enterprise taxonomy design for DAM will also lead to the discovery of content that was previously unknown to members of a corporation. And, it can be a really fun project.

Laura Fu is a digital asset management implementation consultant and customer success resource with NAPC, Inc. She earned her BA in video production from Hofstra University in 2002 and her Masters in Library and Information Science from the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee in 2013. She has worked in media libraries since 2002, initially focusing on television news and video collections. In 2011 she joined the DAM team at Sears Holdings Corporation, helping to maintain digital content using corporate taxonomies and automated data enrichment workflows. Laura currently works at NAPC, overseeing DAM implementation with a focus on DAM taxonomy design.
